Just Another Ho Hum Day in Paradice

Just Another Ho Hum Day in Paradice

After a day exploring the splendid reef just under the boat and basking in the nearly full moon and calm seas all night, we eagerly awaited our day of diving on the local charter boat.

The Indonesian vessel picked us all up, eight divers from five boats, and we headed to a remote reef. The wall dive was –gee I need to learn some more adjectives –spectacular. We saw turtles, tons of small fish and on the second dive actually saw some surviving larger Terrelly’s.

The dive company, Wakatobi Dive, was great. Our guide was a bright young doctor who spoke reasonably good English. He had an obvious love of his reefs and was glad to have a chance to share them with us.

After a grand day of diving, we all headed to the white sandy beach for a sunset BBQ and beach party. The Sunset was breathtaking and the full moon rose just behind the jungle border of the beach. The moonlight cast our shadows on the white sand.

It is days like this that make it all wonderful; good friends, dive adventures and the simple joy of a beach fire in the moonlight. Yes is was just another ho hum day in Paradise.
