Lisa hails from the land of Czars and great novels, Moscow Russia. Like others she had a blooming career, hers in marketing, but decided to see the world. This is her first time away from home and her first time on a boat. I am continually blown away by the courage of people like Lisa. Like most she comes to Furthur via Findacrew.net.
Just in a few days she has already become a great crew member and fits right into our growing international group. She jumped right into dancing with the locals and loves going fast in the dinghy.
Having her aboard is a special treat for someone who was raised in the Cold War. I recall as a child Khrushchev pounding his shoe on the UN table and screaming, “I will bury your children”. Now we fly the Russian flag on our crew halyard with pride. It is certain Russians are much better to dance with than to fear!!!
