200 adventurous sailors departed sunny San Diego late this mourning. the winds were calm but soon freshened to ten knots for the start of the event. Many crews in costumes and colorful flags flying, excitement was in the air.
It was an amazing site to see the fleet all start on their Mexican adventure. The role call was announced on the VHF, with only a few not responding and the spinnakers started to pop– it was announced that the first three boats flying spinnakers over the start would be treated to a free pizza in Cabo.
Waving good bye to new friends, we wished them safe passage and loads of fun– both i am sure they will get. Next it is our turn!!!!
